Character Origins[]

Hiryu is a special agent known as a Strider. Striders are an elite team of ninja mercenaries, and one of the world's most influential secret maneuvering groups, having existed since the feudal era of Japan. Striders are a secret organization specializing in kidnapping, assassination, demolition, and other types of missions that they have performed throughout history in service of the greater good.

Hiryu is one of the most skilled Striders, obtaining the high rank of Special A-Class at a young age. Little is known about him besides the fact he is the Striders' best assassin.

In the year 2042, an evil alien super-genius by the name of Grandmaster Meio appeared and, in five years time, had taken over the nations of Earth, and exerts control over the human race with an iron fist and powerful militia. Having uncovered the secrets of life in the Amazon, Meio plans to construct his super city, the Third Moon, and cause a mass extinction event on Earth, seeing it as nothing more than his own plaything, and creating his own lifeforms to populate his new world.

In 2048, A resistance force comes to the Striders to stop Meio's diabolical plans. Hiryu is tasked to take down Meio and his machinations.

Background[]

Appearing through the Cursed Disc[]

On October 5th, 2011, Doctor Doom revealed to Max that he had acquired a copy of Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, which wasn't due to be released for over another month. When Max asked how he had got it, Doom told him that he had purchased it from Dormammu, having paid the evil being with Bison Dollars. As Doom opened the case for the first time, a ghostly green mist came out of it and a cryptic piece of parchment covered in strange symbols fell to the floor. Doom translated the parchment for Max, and they read that if they didn't master the twelve new characters, Galactus would scorch the earth. Doom dismissed the parchment and they began to play the game.

As they played, Strider suddenly appeared behind them. Doom was ecstatic to see his old friend, but Strider didn't seem to remember him at all. Max decided to remind Strider of who he was by mastering him in-game, and blamed Doom for this mishap because Doom paid Dormammu with worthless Bison Dollars instead of a more viable currency like the United States dollar. With a little help from Doom, Max retrained Strider, and mastered Hawkeye in the process, as Max and Strider agreed Hawkeye would be a good character to team Strider with. Doom hoped Strider would stay, but Strider received orders via a hidden earpiece and told Doom that he had to leave. Doom was sad to see Strider go, but agreed to help Max master the other characters.

Just then all the lights in Max's house went out and Galactus appeared on the TV screen, promising that no matter how hard they trained, they could not prepare themselves for him.

Three on Three Showdown[]

"I need no weapon to defeat a man who fights for greed."

It was unknown what Strider had been doing after he left from Santa Monica, but he has appeared in Max's house and offered his help to Doom, and together with Max they have learned about Taskmaster's Hyper Combos. The villains appeared and were about to kill them, but suddenly Wesker appeared and told Max to learn more about Taskmaster when he, Doom and Strider will take on the villains. Wesker shot M.O.D.O.K. in the gem on his forehead, knocking him out and threw Doom and Strider out of his way to protect them from Taskmaster's gunshots. Then he quickly defeated Deadpool. Taskmaster tried to shoot Wesker, but he dodged all shots. Then Taskmaster tried to tackle him, only to be grabbed, elbowed in his back and knee'd in his stomach. Taskmaster has learned Wesker's teleport and made him retreat. Then Doom tried to throw a fish net on him, but was unsuccessful. They engaged in a fight when Deadpool woke up and started to fight with Strider, only ending up in failure. Taskmaster tried to slice Doom in half, but Doom caught the blade and used the Finger Lazers on him, knocking him out. Deadpool started to wildly shoot, only to hit M.O.D.O.K.. Strider then used Legion, though it was only Ammy. Deadpool tried to pet her, only to be bitten. Wesker and Strider beat up Taskmaster, and Doom used Doom's Time on him, exploding him.

Strider had to report to his HQ and disappeared, and Wesker and Doom adviced Max to leave his house. After that they together with Strider went to the diner to eat some tacos.

Timeline ruined[]

As Max and Doom investigate in Alternate 2012, inside Gamestop, they watch a Captain Commando PSA, telling that he has slain or captured every gaming villain and became the only relevant game character. More revelations revealed that Hiryu was arrested by Commando himself.

Returning back to 1997, before everything went to Commando hell, Hiryu, all nerfed and homeless, was spotted panhandling when Wesker caught him red-handed. Before Wesker could send him back to jail, Doom intervenes in a bad Mexican disguise, attempting to convince Wesker to return back into a biologist. Hiryu uses the opportunity to escape Wesker.

Skills and Abilities[]

Exactly like his game-counterpart, Strider is a highly trained ninja, skilled in hand-to-hand and weapons combat and able to summon mechanical animals to his aide in battle. Though he is seen carrying his sword Cypher, he has never actually used it in combat. In the real world, he also struggles with using his Legion Hyper, only able to summon Ammy dressed in tinfoil both times he has used the attack. This hardly affects him however, as he is still skilled enough to single-highhandedly defeat Deadpool, with the mercenary never landing a single hit upon Strider himself.
